Audrey Hepburn It is a fashion muse of any season, but in the summer, her wardrobe exudes a special relaxed elegance. Maybe it was the oversized sunglasses she wore while on vacation in Antibes, or the wide hybrid (usually bold-shaped) straw hat she rode for a boat. When shooting Roman Holidays In Rome, she enjoyed ice cream with Gregory Peck in a tight waist dress, and in her free time with her husband Mel Ferrer, she often wore an almond-style Gingham Capris.
Many of these warm weather photos were taken at the famous Bürgenstock resort in Lucerne, Switzerland. The Academy Award-winning actor married Ferrer in 1954 at the resort church and lived in a house on the estate for nearly a decade. In her later years, she moved to the Swiss town of Tolochenaz, where she lived in an 18th-century farmhouse called La Paisible. When she wasn’t going to do media in Hollywood, she seemed to be playing golf, gardening and enjoying the idyllic Swiss Alps.
