McCready spoke with Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview Tuesday at Washington Dulles International Airport after he traveled from Israel to Jordan to Egypt before catching his last flight.

The Virginian’s father and two brothers who arrived at the door greeted the Virginians, and they both smiled and hugged as their congressmen used red, white and blue balloons and an American flag flying over the U.S. Capitol.

“God protects me and the people I have with, and He protects Israel,” McCledy said. “I believe 100% of the time Israel will pass, no problem.”

When the Jewish state launched its initial attack on Iran, the president Donald Trump McCledy, known as the “12-day war”, visited families in Israel. He told Fox News Digital that he was later able to volunteer with a ministry group, prepare rooms and even provide food for those in need as the strike continued.

“We did have a few impacts. One kilometer away from me, the whole building was shocked.”

McGuire, who joined McCready’s family on Tuesday to welcome him home, said: “I’m so happy for his family. You can’t always help someone, but when you can, it’s the best part of the job.”

The freshman Virginia State Councilor said he worked with the State Department to ensure McClydy’s way home. McCready and McGuire both thanked his political director Ramona Christian for his important role in getting McCready home.

“It’s just a huge team effort, and it’s the second young man we’ve helped get home in a week. Now, we have several other people in contact with our office and we hope to be able to help them,” McGill told Fox News Digital in an interview.

McGuire celebrates McCready’s homecoming as a fragile ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel has just begun.

The question remains as to whether the ceasefire will be held when Trump announced Monday night that “there will be a complete and complete ceasefire between Israel and Iran.”

Trump said the United States successfully attacked three Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday night, but there are still questions on Capitol Hill about how much the strike has lowered Iran’s nuclear program.

McGuire, a Trump supporter who gained recognition in 2024, said: “Iran’s ability to project power has been greatly reduced.”

“We have encountered an imminent threat of nuclear weapons in Iran and we cannot do that,” McGuire added. “This threat has been eliminated.”

Israel launched a series of coordinated attacks on Iran on June 13, and Iran retaliated against Iran, prompting countries to strike for 12 days. The Islamic Republic launched a retaliatory attack on US air bases in Qatar after the U.S. attack on Iran.

But McGuire confirmed that he is “very promising” that a ceasefire between Israel and Iran will be held and there will be peace in the Middle East.

The Virginia Republican is a member of the House Oversight Committee and the House Armed Forces, giving him 10 years of experience as a Navy seal.
