The 2025 Tribeca Festival closed on Sunday, bringing together a dynamic combination of emerging voices and established talents to showcase stories of inspiration, challenges and surprise. From Griping Exture debuts to bold documentaries and genre-bending narratives, this year’s lineup proves that festivals remain a crucial platform for original storytelling. Among dozens of noteworthy premieres, the five champions have been striking for a long time after ending their credit with their artistic vision, emotional impact, and the potential to shape conversations. Here are some of the outstanding choices that have attracted this year’s Tribeca Festival spirit.
This first album by writer director Lilian T. Mehrel, awarded last year’s AT&T Untold Stories, changed a $1 million prize with the rules of the game, and it’s an interesting, sexy story about the impossible mother-daughter trip. Perhaps unlikely to consider Ayden Mayeri’s impressive comedy performance, the ever-dreaming Amira Casar is an attractive mother, and the breathtaking gorgeous backdrop of the Azores, rather than mentioning José Condessa as their awkward guide.
