Whitney Wolfe Greame returned in March to lead Bumble, the Dating app she founded and released, following the unexpected departure by Director General Lidiane Jones. Now, in a New York Times InterviewWolfe Herd is open to what happened.
“I had no intentions to come back,” Wolfe Herd says. Her post-Bumble life initially brought existential questions about her identity, eventually giving way to daily meditation and board calls from the side sides. That changed when Jones extended to confess that she was overwhelmed. Shortly after that conversation, Jones resigned.
Wolfe rejection rejects speculation about conflict between them. “I think the world wants people – especially when it comes to a woman – they want there’s some reef. There is no reef,” she emphasizes.
Wolfe Herd recognized his own burning reflected in Jones’ exhaustion. “I felt like I was looking in a mirror. I felt like I was looking at myself a year ago … [Jones] She herself made some of the same mistakes I made, which worked that extra hour, inserting that extra journey. ”
