After many conversations about Biden’s deteriorating acumen, Phillips decided to engage with prominent Democrats, including the California government. Gavin NewsomMinnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and Vice President Kamala Harris competed. But according to Phillips, no one answered a call for action.
Frustrated with the party’s leadership, he decided to take things into his own hands and compete in the competition himself.
“I’m trying to inspire a competitive primary, at least force a television debate so Americans can evaluate the president and other candidates firsthand,” Phillips said. “I just want Americans to see what I see and what the White House is trying to hide before it’s too late.”

The former MP also claimed that the media played an important role in preventing him from being included in the ballot in 2024.

Although Phillips has faced a lot of criticism about his party and those who lead the party, he does mention that Democrats can still redeem themselves.
He advised: “The first step is for people who know that Biden is going to be clean. No more escape. No more insistence he is sharp when you meet him. The whole fact will come out and they will wisely lead here.”
Phillips goes on to ask an interesting question: “If a relatively little-known congressman like me knows that Biden can’t lead the country in his second term, what does that feel about the complicity of the real party bosses we all know?”

Anyway, the former Democratic representative gave his party some advice on moving forward after the scandal.
He concluded: “Protecting a president or institution at the expense of its credibility is a lost proposition from myopia. Democratic leaders and messengers must understand that sunlight is not our enemy, but the only way to win public confidence in our party.”
