This year’s Cannes Film Festival Features are its outstanding star-studded, striking disappointment (My love,,,,, Eddington), and some of the middle directors of Hollywood heavyweights made their debut (Kristen Stewart) The age of water And Scarlett Johansson Eleanor Great) and several movies are more fun than excellent movies (Wes Anderson) Phoenician ProjectSpike Lee’s Minimum 2 lowestRichard Linklater New WaveKleber Mendonça Filho AgentAkinola Davies Jr My father’s shadowCarla Simón pilgrimageMichael Angelo Covino Splitsville).
But for me, the five-issued distribution bureaus really exacerbated the occasion – from poetic family drama to pitch-black comedy and harsh horror movies – I have never been able to get out of it since I first watched it. These are the messy movies you need to shoot later this year.
Norwegian Arthouse’s favorite Joachim Trier’s follow-up to his legendary Millennial adulthood, The Worst People in the World (Renate Reinsve and Anders Danielsen are in trouble again), both a study of the intimate character of the two sisters and their domineering filmmaker father, and decades-long narrative of family history, rooted in the huge, broken Oslo that was once a long-standing occupation. It’s also the best movie of the year so far, it’s a flexible balance of humor and re-song and provides an ending that puts me in a puddle of crying. Watch razors, professionally modulated scripts and sensational performances including from Stellan Skarsgård, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas and Elle Fanningand look for it at the 2026 awards ceremony.
