Google will no longer have different employment goals and review their diversity, equality and inclusion programs, according to an email sent to employees seen by the Wall Street Journal.

Google first implemented DEI purposes in 2009, set a target of Growing employment of underrepresented groups by 30% In 2020, and said it hit that goal in 2022, according to its latest 2024 Diversity Report. This report shows that between its leadership, 5.7% identified as black, flat by 2023, while 7.5% identified as Latin, also flat. According to the email, Google said it looks at whether it will continue to publish its diversity reports and also estimate whether any of its programs should meet the latest court decisions or executive orders aimed at slowing down the measures.

We have updated our 10-K language to reflect this, and as a federal entrepreneur , our teams also evaluate changes required after recent court decisions and executive orders on this topic.
