Moonpay gets NY Bitlicense approval



Cryptocurrency payments company Moonpay said it will be able to serve users in all 50 states of the United States after New York is approved.

Moonpay said in a June 4 notice that the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) indeed Its US company has Bitlicense and currency transmitter licenses. Adding Bitlicense makes Moonpay one of 35 digital currency businesses operate in New York State.

“With our New York Bitlicense and Currency Transmitter licenses, Moonpay now has a golden regulatory stack for cryptocurrencies in the U.S., allowing us to serve customers directly in every state without coverage,” said Ivan Soto-Wright, co-founder and CEO of Moonpay.
