Your guide to what Trump’s second term for Washington, business and world means
The author is a long -time Silicon Valley investor, former board member of PayPal and investor in SpaceX
A man approaches the government like a company. The other looks at the government than its company. Anyone who worked in Silicon Valley knows which one he should choose. Modern management beats medieval rule for the results.
The Outbreaks between Elon Musk and Donald Trump Has reverberated worldwide. It must be damaged for those in Silicon Valley who have thrown their support behind the president who believed that he would reduce the federal government. With Musk’s departure, there is also hope for a disciplined approach for the US government and a budget. Muschus is right; The Trump budget is an abomination.
I feel more than a touch of sympathy for musk. In contrast to others, I do not believe that he has thrown himself into this struggle for personal gain or for his companies in this fight. Like many, he was disappointed by a democratic party that had lost its strengths, against California, and his leader Joe Biden, vain, virtue. Unfortunately, he misjudged the character of the man with whom he threw his lot.
Musk knows what it takes to manage a spacious empire with a minimum of waste. Despite his extra -curricular activities, the fixation of reproductive fixation and the planned outbursts, he is the experienced business builder of his generation. He single -handedly paved the way for the global electrification of automobiles, and with SpaceX (and the descendants, Starlink) NASA put NASA in the shade and at the same time promises to change the way we communicate.
But the government is not a company and musk – although in his assessment of the covered national bureaucracy, the suffocating regulatory climate and the precarious state of the US balance sheet was not understood that Trump was more interested in the daily cycle than in the reform. Musk is the revolutionary, the president of the monarch.
Musk also underestimated the way Trump’s cabinet and consultant and all goals in his crosshair were determined to fight him. He was the outsider. They were the residents of the swamp.
In comparison, Trump does not have Musk’s business sense or his attention. Since the inauguration, he has conducted the government as well as he did his own business, raised the mountains of debt and revealed employees while he has decided.
While Musk started an attack on the government, Trump with high -minded duties such as the takeover of the Kennedy Center, the attempt to relieve the head of the National Portrait Gallery, with the renaming of military bases and ships, hollowed out, government libraries, to plan his birthday parade and plan to plan an aircraft.
What is the result of this meeting of the corporate and medieval monarch? It is the opposite of what has been promised: a US budget that has increased, the level of debt increases and destroys interest payments that make the country susceptible to its greatest creditors – Japan and China.
Unfortunately, the minimal cuts that Doge did – like for foreign help and voice in America, have only served to weaken us all over the world. And at home, thanks to Trump’s falling in love with tariffs, no business in America can plan over lunchtime.
Then there is the fusillade of Sharpie decrees that, not checked, strengthen China and weaken the silicon Valley – contempt for scientific accuracy, cuts in research and development financing, cancellation of university contracts, clamps on visas for the brightest overseas students. These were the pillars of Musk’s own monumental and concerned the hollowing out of the future of America.
While Musk Washington left the reputation and affected his business, the President’s family has divided deals for new hotels and golf courses all over the world. Member fees in Mar-A-Lago, its Floridic sanctuary, laid last year. And he milks the enthusiasm of his followers with his own controversial Memecoin, which was started days before his inauguration.
Advice advice for those in Silicon Valley who followed Musks leadership and were with Trump. Leave. Do not be mistaken for working to make crypto part of global finances, minimize artificial intelligence regulation, help start-up companies or to protect the interests of the Silicon Valley. You have no fluctuating. You are only cannon food.
