Tonight’s Tony Award Broadway season will be celebrated everything: High ticket sales (watching you here, Othello and Good night, good luck); performances of the precious members of both succession and Happy;NBC-based musical Crush although Megan HiltyNBC’s star Crushstarred in other things; based on Stranger’s stuff although Sadihuia star Stranger’s stuffstarred in other things; played the cat doll of Norma Desmond; Titus Andromedon played Mary Todd Lincoln; and two musicals about corpses. That’s why we were happy to expect unexpected things at the ceremony – especially performers as diverse as Cynthia Erivo, who took on their responsibilities.
