London – Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang praised the UK on Monday and promised to join his multi-billion dollar semiconductor company to increase investment in the country’s artificial intelligence sector.

Huang said during a panel discussion with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Investment Minister Poppy Gustafsson: “In the case of Goldilocks.”

“In the case of Goldilocks,” Huang said during a panel discussion with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Investment Minister Poppy Gustafsson. “You won’t be able to do machine learning without machines – so the ability to build these AI supercomputers in the UK will naturally attract more startups.”

The NVIDIA boss continued: “I think it’s a really incredible place to invest. I’m going to invest here.”

Huang also stressed that the UK “has one of the richest AI communities anywhere on the planet” and “stunning startups” such as DeepMind, Wayve and Synthesia, Elevenlabs.

“Ecosystems are really perfect for taking off – it’s just one thing missing,” he said.

Earlier on Monday, NVIDIA announced a new UK sovereign artificial intelligence industry forum, along with commitments from cloud vendors NScale and Nebius to deploy new facilities in the country, including thousands of semiconductor giant Blackwell GPU chips.

Britain has been touting its potential as a global AI player in recent months, but thanks to Keir Starmer’s efforts to lead his Labour government’s growth-focused agenda.

In January, Starmer released a bold plan to promote the UK’s domestic AI sector and promised to relax planning rules on new data center development and to increase UK computing power to twenty times between 2030 and 2030.
