The fictional “Dudley” is a notorious Venetian beach that “mercenaries turned anarchists” and is described by ERL as “handsome, charming and totally unhelpful”. The handmade leather jacket has been torn and sewn together, and the light blue polo has been torn and stained and painful with dirt, motorcycle t-shirts, sweatshirts and mesh tops. There is a clear mention about queer subculture, evocative of erotic portraits of erotic muscles of Finnish men.
The series launches its first ever artist collaboration and also presents work inspired by the works of groundbreaking queer porn photographers Peter Berlinhappens to be one of the Finnish themed Tom. The legendary image maker combines charcoal muscle tanks with retro photography collages, taking large, full-body shots of artists, like many models in motion.
ERL underlines its commitment to handcraft and local producers behind the playful drama. The collection introduces ERL locally sourced California denim, dyed and sun-drained, with a unique quality of life. Elsewhere, wool pistols using wool in the United States have been passed through the hands of local artisans.
