Instagram will finally let you rearrange your grid


Instagram announced on Thursday that it will eventually allow users to rearrange their grid, and test a way for users to quietly post their profile without the content to appear in users’ foods. The social network also launches the ability to flow Spotify songs directly to your Instagram notes, along with a new initiative to support emerging creators.

Instagram says the ability to rearrange grids was one of its highest required features. With this update, users will be able to rearrange posts in their profile to set the appearance of their grid. To date, posts in your profile have appeared in chronological order, with a peak of a poster being the only way to hold older content at the top.

The idea behind the function is to give users a way to make their grid layout more aesthetically pleasing or highlighting certain content over others.

The announcement does not turn out as a surprise, as Instagram’s chief Adam Mosseri said in January that the company was Looking to roll the feature.

Spotify’s new integration allows users to share any song they listen in real time in the streaming service to their Instagram notes, leaving their followers to see and check out what music they are entering.

The company also announced that it is launching projects, an initiative that will invest in emerging talent. Through projects, Instagram will partner with creators to provide support that may include financial support, links, co-ID, collaborative opportunities and more.

Instagram spokesman told Techcrunch in an email that projects are not a dedicated created fund, and that Instagram “will work closely with creators to provide them with the kind of support that is best suited for the needs of each of their unique creative projects.”
