
After years of providing free services without any bells, WhatsApp will now start displaying advertisements in the popular chat app. To be clear, users will only see advertisements on the status screen – the taking of the app in Instagram’s stories.
So just as you see an advertisement after watching a few stories on Instagram, you will see advertisements in WhatsApp after you have been through some status updates.
The company said its advertising mechanism uses signals such as the country or city, language, and the channels they follow, as well as data from advertisements with which users interact.
Meta said it does not use personal identifiable data, such as telephone numbers, messages, calls and user groups to serve intended ads. If a user has added their WhatsApp account to the Meta Account Center, the company will use its account preferences to display advertisements.

The company said it allows companies and users to promote their channels, WhatsApp’s broadcast function, in the discovery section, and that it will allow selected creators and companies to load users subscription to unlock exclusive updates on channels. The company said these subscription fees will be facilitated by app stores.
Meta said that more than 1.5 billion people use status and channels daily.
To date, WhatsApp has generated revenue with its WhatsApp trading platform and click-to-Whatsapp ads. Meta has repeatedly mentioned these as growing income It’s last quarterly Income Calls.
Alice Newton Rex, a product VP at WhatsApp, said that in information ads there is a suitable extension of the app’s revenue currents.
