It’s strange that Jake Paul’s all got into professional boxing matches. His recent battle is a classic example, and Paul was in the face of 58-year-old former world heavyweight champion Iron Mike Tyson back in November. Paul is over 30 years younger than Tyson, and Paul won the battle with eight unanimous decisions. Most of Paul’s opponents have so far opposed the novice debut, with a record of 0-1 and many MMA fighters and similar people. Paul usually has advantages in size, experience, or youth – sometimes three. Chavez Jr is not different.
Technically, Chavez is the most experienced professional boxer Paul will face. Chavez’s 54-6-1 in his career was 54-6-1, and his best combat era exceeded the middleweight division in more than a decade. Chavez has fought only once in the last three and a half years, winning six unanimous decisions from Uriah Hall. Chavez was 20 years younger than Iron Mike at 39, so Chavez was only close to 40, not 60 years old like Iron Mike. But Paul is still over 10 years old, has been much more active in recent years and will be well beyond his main combat weight.
