Terry Luttrell of REO Speedwagon is hospitalized after a car accident in Illinois

Reo Speedwagon Singer Terry Luttrell was in a car accident Sunday after a party concert in Champagne, Illinois.

The 78-year-old told Press Release In champagne, he Got asleep On the steering wheel, his car airbag suffered a ruptured sternum when he crashed on Interstate 57.

“I can get up and get out of the car,” Luttrell told the newspaper via his ward phone, adding that he hoped he would be hospitalized for a few more days. “The airbag fell off and made my sternum a little ruptured. I had a little back pain and neck pain. There was nothing that could not be overcome.”

Luttrell told the newspaper that he stayed at a concert party until 2 a.m. to sign his autograph and he didn’t sleep much when he was on business in St. Louis.

“It’s just a sign signature,” he said. “I have people who have the Star album and the REO album. People are really friendly. You have to (do it).

The singer, Monk Paine, said that although there were only a few hours of Shuteye, he felt “a little sleepy” but he thought it was not a problem.

“It just happened,” he said. “I nodded. I turned the car over and woke up, and I was in a cocoon (airbag). Unfortunately, it was a car in total.”

He added that some of his nurses were even at the concert.

Despite his injury, Luttrell said he was glad he performed at a farewell concert, which he said was “always a good show.”

“You never know what it would be like,” he added. “Everyone is excited (in the band). It’s just a fun night. It’s exactly what we think. It’s a one-off concert and it won’t happen again.”

Late last year, the band said they planned to stop tours starting in January due to “irreconcilable differences.”

Luttrell joined the band shortly after the band was founded in Champaign of the University Illinois In 1967, he left in 1972 after serving as the host of his first album. He was replaced by Kevin Cronin. He returned to the band once on Saturday night.

“I just heard of Terry Lutrell’s car accident…I hope he can recover quickly,” Cronin told Fox News numbers on Wednesday.
