Vice President JD Vance National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard remains a key team member of Trump’s “coalition” after President Donald Trump said he “does not care” she previously told lawmakers about Iran’s nuclear threat.
“DNI GABBARD “A veteran, patriot, a loyal supporter of President Trump, is also a key part of the alliance he has built in 2024,” Vance said in a statement to Fox News Digital on Wednesday.
“She is a key member of our team and we thank her for her relentless work to protect the United States from foreign threats.”

Vance and Gabbard have historically been outspoken non-interventionist camps made up of the Trump administration. Both historically support Foreign policy doctrine, supporting minimal intervention in other state affairs.
In contrast, other more hawkish members like Secretary of State Marco Rubio have historically supported military intervention in foreign conflict.
Vance publicly supports Trump as the administration is considering the next step in addressing Iran. Vance said Tuesday that while those who are concerned about foreign intervention are correct, Trump “has won some trust on this issue.”
“And seeing this, I can assure you that he is only interested in using the U.S. military to achieve the goals of the American people,” Vance said in a truth social post on Tuesday. “Whatever he does, it’s his focus.”
Vance’s statement of support for Gabbard comes after Trump appeared to have discounted Gabbard’s Senate Intelligence Committee statement, saying she believes Iran has not actively built nuclear weapons.
She said Gabbard told lawmakers in March that the intelligence community assessed Iran’s “no nuclear weapons were established and that Supreme Leader Khamenei has not authorized his nuclear weapons program to be suspended in 2003.”

She did add: “Iran’s abundant uranium storage is at its highest level and is unprecedented in countries without nuclear weapons.”

Additionally, Gabbard released a video on June 10 where she said the world was “on the brink of nuclear annihilation.” Politico reports Trump told his White House colleagues that Gabbard was out of place and believed the video was a videotape that tried to stop him from arguing that Israel could attack Iran.
Alexa Henning, deputy chief of staff of Gabbard, said in a post on Tuesday that Politico’s story was “Click Clickbait.”

Trump told reporters on Monday that he believes Iran is “very close” to obtaining nuclear weapons. When asked specifically about Gabbard’s March testimony, Trump’s assessment of Iran’s nuclear capabilities was unwavering.
“I don’t care what she said,” Trump said. “I think they’re very close to having one.”

Nevertheless, officials from the NIS Director’s Office said in a statement to Fox News’ digitalization that Gabbard and the president remain consistent in Iran.
“Just because Iran has not built nuclear weapons at the moment, it doesn’t mean that President Trump said on Air Force One that they are not “very close.” “The statements from POTUS and DNI GABBARD are consistent.”
Gabbard did not call David’s camp in June with other military officials and cabinet members. But, she was in the White House situation room on Tuesday, and Trump has been following the latest news in the Middle East.
A White House official told Fox News on Tuesday that Trump and Gabbard’s views and statements on the matter were consistent with each other, noting that Gabbard said in March that she believed Iran had the ability to build nuclear weapons.

Trump told reporters at the White House on Wednesday that he has not decided whether he will interact with the U.S. strike against Iran, but said the coming days may be “large next week.”
“Yes, I might do that. I probably won’t do it. I mean, no one knows what I’m going to do. I can tell you, Iran has a lot of trouble and they want to negotiate,” Trump told reporters Wednesday. “I said, ‘Why don’t you negotiate with me until all this death and destruction? Why don’t you go?’ I said to people, “Why don’t you negotiate with me?” It’s very sad to see this. ”
