When we arrived, the black smoke was still rolling from the center of Soroka Medical Center, Iran’s attack on the building several hours later.
The twisted metal shrapnel (apparently from the missile itself) are scattered in the 200m (656ft) area around the hospital and its surroundings.
Vehicles carrying medical staff lined up on the road outside – an emergency response to many fears that it would be worse.
A group of soldiers, police and rescue teams expressed their anger at the entrance of the hospital, and a group of ministers arrived at the strike.
Alon Uzi wandered outside the entrance to the hospital with two bags of items.
He said he had been in the emergency room at the time of the attack and had no time to arrive at the shelter.
“I was lying in the bed and heard a big boom,” he told us. “Before I did anything, an explosion happened and part of the ceiling fell off and I was covered in white dust.
“There is no time to get up. I just got ready and then heard the whistle.”
In the emergency reception area, the air mixes chemicals with dust. As the emergency team passed the impacted surgical ward, the patient was still evacuated on a stretcher inside the building.
Medical staff told local media that patients there were recently moved to the hospital’s emergency shelter. According to the Israeli Ministry of Health, 71 people were injured.

Professor Asher Bashiri, director of the obstetrics ward, said he could see the influence of his office.
“It looks incredible,” he told me. “The upper part of the building is broken and the fire will be fired out of it for the first few hours. Everything looks like it’s broken.”
He said that when the war began, they had moved all their patients to a more protected area.
“We’re very, very lucky,” he said. “It could be worse. But we’re still living in incredible situations. Not finished yet – I don’t know what will happen tomorrow or the next day. We’re glad we’re still alive.”
Hospital director Shlomi Codish said the northern surgical building was attacked and several wards were demolished, causing serious damage to the entire hospital.
“We hope to move more than 200 patients to other medical centers in the next few hours,” he said. “We are trying to minimize the number of people; we don’t know if the building may collapse or the ward may collapse.”
Among the ministers who visited the site today is Miki Zohar, the Minister of Culture of Benjamin Netanyahu, from Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Everyone needs to know what we are facing – a regime that tries to kill innocent people,” he said. “It’s a different war when you deal with evil. Trust me, we won’t stop winning.”
Mr Zohar was asked about the history of Israel’s bombing of hospitals at Gaza locations – whose military said Hamas was used as a military control center.
“We ensure the safety of the innocent people in Gaza as much as possible,” he said. “We call on them to evacuate before the bomb. This is the biggest difference between Iran and us.”

Israeli Defense Minister Katz accused the Iranian supreme leader of committing “the worst war crimes” and said he would be held responsible.
Netanyahu accused Iran of deliberately targeting civilians and promised Israel would “determine the full price of Tehran’s tyrants.”
Iranian media said they are targeting the center at GAV-Yam Tech Park, less than 3 km (1.86 miles) from the hotel.
This is the second day after Donald Trump asked Iran to “unconditional surrender” and is one of six locations hit by Iran’s missiles.
This reminds you that both sides can escalate this conflict by using different weapons or choosing different targets.
The U.S. president is weighing the decision to join Israel in the war while demanding Iran to obey a deal to end nuclear enrichment to block its path to nuclear weapons.
Israel said on Wednesday it sent 40 fighter jets to bombing targets in Iran, including Arak’s inactive nuclear reactor and a nuclear development building in Natanz, as well as dozens of missiles and radars.
The war is on a volatile state on the brink of wider conflict after nearly a week of attacks on both sides every day.
