In honor of his role as a formal timekeeper Tokyo 2025 World Track and Field Championships,,,,, Seiko Revealing the Special Edition prospex speedtimer: SSC955, featuring its eye-catching Edo purple dial. Historically, color can also be used as the official color of the tournament – a tribute to Tokyo’s cultural heritage, our Seiko’s long-term legacy in Seiko’s sport timing.
The watch features a panda-style layout in a 39mm stainless steel case, with a black chronograph set to a purple background presented by soft sunlight. Faceted black index and matte black sword-style hands fill the Lumibrite for enhanced readability, while the fixed black tachometer bezel adds bold functional edges.
Powered by Seiko’s solar V192 movement, the SSC955 offers a 60-minute chronograph, a 24-hour indicator and a power reserve of up to six months, fully charged. It has a monumental back and is carefully sculpted with the Tokyo 2025 logo, along with the watch’s unique version numbers, further highlighting its special status.
Completed design is a triple-chain stainless steel bracelet with polished center link and button buckle. The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer SSC955 is limited to 6,000 pieces worldwide and retails for £650 (approximately $891). Available now and the watch will be officially released in August 2025 via Seiko’s UK Online Storeboutiques and a selection of retailers.
