Crypto exchange Kraken wins Ireland’s Mica license



Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has obtained a license for crypto assets under the EU market in the Republic of Ireland (Micca) Regulation.

Kraken will now be able to provide crypto services in 30 countries in the European Economic Area (EEA)allowing its business to expand faster throughout the region, The exchange said on Wednesday.

“This license puts us in a strong position to expand our product offerings, develop institutional and retail customer bases, and provide secure, accessible and fully regulated crypto services to the growing number of millions of people in the EU,” said Kraken’s Ceo Arun Sethi.

Kraken added that obtaining a mica license provides additional assurance that the exchange complies with EU-wide consumer protection, transparency and supervision standards.
