On June 20, the WNBA Portland X account released a July 15 date, saying it was counting down and it was possible to mention the team’s official name.

The WNBA did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital, which requested the firing of his son’s report.
The son was hired as the first employee of the WNBA Portland franchise on April 1. Before joining Portland, the son was National Basketball Players Association.

“As the organization’s first employee, Inky will lay the foundation for our future growth, and we believe her leadership will take the franchise to new heights, making lasting impacts in Portland and the WNBA,” Whitehead said in an April statement after her son was hired.
It is the son’s responsibility to oversee all aspects of the business, including marketing, ticketing and sponsorship sales, community relations, finance, legal and human resources.
