“You can find out,” Trump said. “If they want, they can easily find out. You go up and tell reporters, ‘National security, who gave it?’ You have to do that, and I doubt we’ll do something like that.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the White House to clarify.

Trump repeatedly criticized The New York Times and CNN reported what he called “fake news” about military strikes, which showed that they were not effectively undermining the country’s nuclear program.

On Wednesday, CNN released a report claiming that “Last weekend, the U.S. military strike against three Iranian nuclear facilities did not undermine the core components of the country’s nuclear program and may only be withdrawn a few months ago, a U.S. intelligence assessment presented by seven people.”

The U.S. report said the New York Times published an article titled “The Iranian nuclear program that has only been on strike for a few months.”

According to the Times, according to officials familiar with the findings, “The U.S. bombing three nuclear sites in Iran has only been a few months, and the U.S. bombing three nuclear sites in Iran has caused the U.S. nuclear program to explode for several months,” the Times reported.

“The New York Times and CNN constituted a fake story to get some hits,” Trump said Wednesday at the NATO summit in the Netherlands. “That’s the only reason I care about it. Because those pilots are so brave. I’ve never seen anything like that. They flew into the bumblebee’s nest and then they did a huge harm to the writing of fake news.”
