Ferrari A 100-foot flight monohull designed to compete in the ocean and ocean racing has released the “Hypersail” while acting as a test bed for cross-sector innovation. Inspired by the brand Hypercar lineage, Hypersail uses keels equipped with foil and two other contact points for steady flights. The yacht was founded in collaboration with French naval architect Guillaume Verdier and led by veteran sailor Giovanni Soldini, built in Italy with a focus on 2026 on offshore trials. Ferrari’s expertise, especially in control systems and energy management, is the performance of the project without any defense.
The single ship will operate only with renewable energy such as wind, solar and power sources, and there is no combustion engine on board. Hypersail is a product of Ferrari’s open and innovative spirit, incorporates aerodynamic knowledge and control technology in its racing division and has obtained nine patents, including six. The collaboration combines cutting-edge automotive engineering with nautical performance, aiming to achieve long-distance endurance racing without the need for pit stops or external support.
