When you talk about Saul’Canelo’Alvarez and check out his achievements – from debuting as a 15-year-old boy to now being a thirty-five-year-old man, it’s easy to run out of super books. The same goes for Terence “Bud” Crawford.
For decades, legends, superstars, undisputed champions and huge pounders have been abandoned, but we rarely hear fighter jets described as special. That’s it Crawford and Alvarez; both of them have achieved extraordinary success in boxer life.
Crawford started boxing at a local gym in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of seven. He competed in 70 games before becoming a professional in 2008.
Alvarez’s Amateur Foundation
Alvarez comes from a combat family and follows his brothers to the gym every day, he will watch their trains and wings. He was 13 years old when he started boxing in amateurs. After forty-six games, Alvarez won the 15-year-old professional in 2005.
In 2014, Crawford headed to Glasgow, Scotland to challenge proud WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns. When Crawford took his heart and the title, the durable champion was output and beaten and beat him with points to win his first world title.
Climbing split
Winning a good victory for Yuriorkis Gamboa and Raymundo, leading Crawford to advance to compete with Thomas Dulorme for Texas WBO lightweight champions. Crawford beat Dulorme to win the sixth round and became the world champion of two weights.
Crawford continued to defend his lightweight title, then beat WBC’s lightweight subweight champion and ring belt in 2016 to defeat the giant Ukrainian boxer Victor Postol. After more defense, he brought WBC and WBO belts to WBC and WBO and hit the IBF championship with the IBF championship and hit his body in the third round.
In 2018, Crawford was promoted to challenge Australian fighter Jeff Horn to win the newly won WBO middleweight title. Crawford demolished and surpassed the championship to win the world championship with the third-tier weight championship.
Crawford vs. Top Contenders
Crawford won a huge victory over Amir Khan, Kell Brook and Shawn Porter. It’s 2022 and next is David Avanesyan. Crawford eliminated him in the sixth round to maintain the WBO middleweight title, a victory that played a role in a mega-fight against a unified world-class secondary champion. I chose Crawford to rule and control the fight – my point is that Spence became a damaged fighter. I thought Crawford would target Spence’s eyes, and he did it, defeating the Unified Championship, becoming the pulp, becoming the undisputed welterweight champion.
After a year off, Crawford rose to challenge WBO junior high school champion Israel Madrimov in 2024. Madrimov is an amateur game decorated into 350 games and has been unbeaten in his career. That man from Uzbekistan was well educated and hard rocks.
Crawford boxed well against Madrimov and won inside, but the champion took distance as distance in a huge battle with pride and determination. Crawford won all three scorecards, becoming the fourth world champion in the weight class. Terence Crawford is 41-0 and has 31 kos.
Alvarez’s first world champion
Saul Alvarez won his first world title in Game 37. He defeated British fighter Matthew Hatton in the points match and won the vacant WBC junior middleweight championship in 2011.
The knockout defeated Ryan Rhodes, Alfonso Gomez and Kermit Cintron, who played against Shane Mosley in 2012. Alvarez is patient and mature fighting the dangerous and experienced Mosley, winning over points in Las Vegas.
Facing Mayweather and beyond
He rode Floyd Mayweather after defeating Josesito Lopez and Austin Trout and adding WBA and Ring Junior middleweight belts. Mayweather’s inside was so good, the outside was so smart, too fast for Alvarez, defeated him in 2013.
Alvarez returned against tough Alfredo Angulo in March 2014, beating him in ten rounds before fighting Erislandy Lara in a fierce match, winning the match through a controversial breakup decision. Next was the mighty James Kirkland, but Alvarez was too stressed, speed and strength – knocking him out in the third round to fight Puerto Rico’s big Miguel Cotto.
Cotto Clash and Khan are upset
Alvarez and Cotto traded twelve huge rounds, but in the end, speed, timing and punch varieties proved to be decisive. Alvarez hit back at Coto with a big right hand, No. 5 mirror and hard body to win the unanimous decision in Las Vegas.
In 2016, Alvarez took over Amir Khan and was folded until his right hand hit Sang’s chin around the sixth round, making him feel cold. Alvarez won the WBO Junior Middleweight Championship after breaking the brave Liam Smith, taking him out of the ninth round by defeating his body with a quick left tear.
Chavez Jr. and Golovkin Finals
2017, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (50-2-1) Next. The main themes of this aggravated battle are maliciousness, testosterone, Mexican pride and bragging rights. Alvarez demolished and punished the bigger Chavez Jr., who brought him to the twelve rounds on the Mexican Independence Day weekend in Las Vegas.
Gennady Golovkin has been terrorizing the middleweight division for years, and the battle with Alvarez was both profitable and inevitable. They were declared a split draw in the first round in September 2017 – many called it a robbery. The rematch came after a twelve month delay, with Alvarez being declared the winner due to the majority decision and claiming to be the world’s WBC, WBA and RING middleweight champions.
Future career and champion defense
From there, Alvarez beat Rocky Fielding in 2019’s middleweight middleweight, while Daniel Jacobs beat Daniel Jacobs in 2019.
After defeating Callum Smith and defending his super middleweight title, he defeated Avni Yildirim in three rounds, destroyed Billy Joe Saunders in eight rounds and stopped the Kaleb Factory in eleven rounds, becoming an undisputed champion with his 2021 result.
Alvarez takes risks to heavyweights, challenging Dmitry Bivol in May 2022. Bivol fought brilliantly to shut down Alvarez’s offense and retained his title.
Alvarez then returned to Las Vegas for a trilogy battle with Golovkin in the superweight match and won by a unanimous decision and retained all the major belts. He continued to defend John Ryder, Jermell Charlo, Jamie Munguia, Edgar Berlanga and William Scull.
After sixty-seven battle careers, did the thirty-four-year-old Alvarez end up? Of course he is not. He has created hundreds of millions of dollars by tearing down and eliminating opponents, but his devastating power seems to have weakened as the years pass by super middleweight.
Comparative Analysis: Experience and Skills
Crawford will be at thirty-eight times on combat night, but it will be much less battles and wear out much less. He has won 11 shutdowns since his Madridmov round, so he will be a fresh fighter.
Crawford has fought five times since 2021 with four shutdowns. Alvarez has fought ten times, and seven of them have already walked the distance.
There is a lot of conversation among insider boxing people, and people say Crawford is too small for the superweight. That’s absolutely nonsense. Alvarez has a 5’8″ wingspan of 70.5″; Crawford has a 5’8′ wingspan of 74.0 inches.
The struggle is about who can better adapt to the people standing in front of them. Alvarez’s experience is. Crawford’s skill is.

Alvarez and Crawford have been fighting and training for years. Who is the least worn warrior? Crawford won 31 shutdowns and has been a dominant force since 2008. Alvarez won 39 stop wins, but his last TKO was the super middleweight in 2021. Will Crawford increase his power to two weight splits? Probably not.
To win, Crawford needs boxing, moving and staying away from the ropes. Poke is the key – use the poke and double it. Crawford has rhythm, balance and movement, and he can easily turn from the South Claw to the Orthodox Church. He is a superior boxer and he can punch holes. Can he hurt Alvarez? Yes. Can he stop Alvarez? No.
Alvarez is a high pressure fighter – an excellent machine, a sharp shooter. Will he take advantage of Crawford’s slow start strategy? Can he release it with the box Crawford? The answer is no. Will Crawford make him old and tired in the fight? Yes.
Crawford made a unanimous decision in this championship battle.
