US Representative Dusty Johnson officially puts the hat on his hat and becomes South Dakota Governor

South Dakota Dusty Johnson, the only House member in the state, announced his campaign for governor.

Johnson is chairman of the House Republican Street Caucus and a member of the bipartisan problem solver’s Caucus. He has served in Congress since 2019, before serving as vice president of an engineering and consulting firm in South Dakota. Prior to his senior executive, Johnson also served as South Dakota Utilities Commissioner from 2005 to 2011, during which time he was appointed Chief of Staff for former Gov. Dennis Daugaard.

After rumors of Johnson’s campaign, local media believed that the news was a “form” carried out during the campaign and with video Representatives share on social media.

After the announcement, criticism began to appear online, saying Johnson has not fully supported the president Donald Trump, Claiming that he is “never ending” is “a lie of despair.”

“It’s true,” Johnson told Fox News Numbers. “Donald Trump asked me to go to Mar-A-Lago. I went to the Super Bowl with President Trump. A few years ago, I donated $10,000 to his reelection campaign. He recognized me in the 2020 game. I was his re-elected state campaign chairman.”

Johnson added that he is a man with a long history of having a partner with Trump.

Johnson also said he has been proven to be a “key ally” to the House Speaker Mike Johnson, R – La. Noted that he was one of the members of Congress, “helping him elect the votes to make him elected Speaker.”

As the Senate competes for a large bill by Trump, Johnson said he supports a version of the bill passed by the House of Representatives and expressed optimism that it will be passed by the Republican self-implemented July 4 deadline through the Senate.
