“We gave up on journalists who have built their credibility and trust in their audience for decades,” said King. “Not reporting to the outside world through VOA and (Radio Asia) and most,” he said. North Korea Civilians only regard the United States as a bad person. ”

But VOA’s Persian service was played 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Even though VOA has improved some coverage during the crisis, it is only a small part of what the organization has done in the past.
Kim observed at the hearing: “From my understanding, the VOA operation has almost disappeared.”
Lake replied: “No. This has not disappeared. We are doing what is required by law.” “Legal minimum.”

This means that VOA and other services are just fruit shells. Congress will prepare spending bills for the entire federal government over the next three months. What lawmakers decide to do with funding for VOA and global media will herald the future of the organization. And, if the microphone is permanently silent.
