As Texas Family In the mountains, the state continues to struggle with the consequences of the devastating flooding, with a local primary school first being a unified center and then a supply warehouse.
Ingram Ingram Independent School District interim principal Mindy Curran has been linked to Fox News Digital Digitalization for Ingram Elementary School for only three days.
“On the first day, we initially opened Ingram Elementary as a unified website to find people’s families and evacuate for our camp,” Curran said. “The daily development is based on the needs that are happening in the community at that time.”

Curran said the school would not initially open on Saturday, but the building was suppressed again when supplies began to pour into Kerr County. Volunteers worked Saturday and Sunday and organized donations, including toiletries, bottled water, non-rotten food, and other essentials for struggling local families. Despite appreciation for the generous donations, Curran suspected the supplies would be particularly useful after the initial volunteers and donations disappeared.
“In a disaster like this, the initial influx of all these support and helps,” Curran said. “Then, when these support and helps exit, the community still needs these things here. So we will be organized and ready to do it for that purpose.”

When asked how the operations of Ingram Elementary School can grow rapidly, Curran attributes the community to the support of the community.
“What is really impressive is our community, and I know that, but when you’re facing a community that really needs to assemble and step up a disaster in a disaster, nothing can tell you,” Curran said. “Their response has been overwhelming.”

As she talked to Fox News Digital, a truck with a water bottle tray drove to the entrance to the school. Curran noted that the people with supplies came from outside the local area and drove to Ingram Elementary School.

While she said she couldn’t meet the immediate needs of affected families, Curran said the Ingram school district is responsive and preparing for what’s next. She said that as the flood receded, the focus of attention was outside Kerr County, where local families would need supplies. They will wait inside Ingram Elementary School.
