Inspired by the historic RAC trophy, the LEGO design is made from over 2700 bricks, with the first and builders trophy 59 cm high and weighing 2 kg. The second and third-place versions have red and blue trim, over 43 cm and weigh 1.5 kg. Each trophy includes a decorative LEGO F1 model and is assembled by seven LEGO master builders in Denmark, which takes a total of 210 hours.
The partnership is part of Lego’s ongoing partnership with Formula 1, which aims to engage families through a romping, immersive experience. A replica of the first place trophy was also shown at the F1 family viewing party at Lego in Battersea Power Station in London.
