Shooter allegedly fired a shot Border Patrol Agents outside a federal building in McAllen, Texas identified as 27-year-old Michigan resident Ryan Louis Mosquito.

At a press conference after the shooting, McAllen Police Commissioner Victor Rodriguez identified the suspicious shooter as a mosquito, saying he allegedly opened fire at the agents and opened “many, many, many rounds” at the building.
Rodriguez confirmed that the suspect was killed by a special agent who was killed at the scene.

According to the police chief, there is no well-known motive yet, why Moseda allegedly opened fire on Border Patrol agents.
He said the suspect was linked to a Michigan address and he arrived at the scene to drive a Michigan plate. He also mentioned that the suspect’s car was spray painted in “a certain language” (probably Latin) on it, which he could not decipher.
According to Rodriguez, the mosquito was reportedly missing at an address in nearby Weslaco, “an hour and a few minutes later, he opened fire on a federal building at this particular location.”

In a statement emailed to FOX News Digital, a FBI spokesperson San Antonio McAllen police have received calls from local border patrol facilities near McAllen International Airport at 5:53 a.m.
The spokesman said the armed suspect was not identified as a mosquito, but was “adult male”. “The engaged law enforcement officers responded to the scene and officials got angry again.”
A response officer was injured in the gunfire and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to a spokesperson. The official is in a stable condition now.

FBI representatives said there is “no threat to public safety we know at the moment” and that an investigation is underway.
Two officers and a Border Patrol officer were injured in the shooting, including a shot in the knee, according to a statement by DHS on X.
