This season, designer Sandra Sándor is fascinated by the work of Austrian architect and esotericist Rudolf Steiner, who is well known for his mysticism and self-proclaimed clairvoyance. “In some places, he is contradictory, but I really admire a lot of things in his work,” she said.
Visiting Steiner’s London home filled with organic shapes and modular debris, it solidifies Nanushka’s spring 2026 pre-sale. Khaki trench coats can be converted into Bolero or vest. A collar with or without its rolling sleeves and turtlenecks can be worn in a tank dress; a “collar” belt on a pair of jeans can be secured with buttons.
Steiner’s influence can also be felt in this season’s palette: the occasional stem green, petal pink and tomato red, which is a neutral one. “He sees color as a creature,” Sand said. “The way he applies colors in his paintings is that the color floats in space without the idea of attaching to a physical surface.” So if she brings a recurring immersion theme with long sleeves and button skirts. “They have a floating atmosphere.”
But it seems that Sándor found more than just passing inspiration among architects. She said she was particularly attracted to his declaration: “Materials will never be without spirit. Spirits will never be without things.”
“I really try to have that mentality when I design my own collection,” she said. “I just like to have a deeper meaning when designing. I look at the theme (not just an era) because I have motivation every season.”
