Seven Chinese nationals living in Massachusetts are linked to a multi-million-dollar drug trafficking group that allegedly expanded marijuana in the northeastern United States and distributed marijuana.
“Today, we arrested members of a drug trafficking organization suspected of running in China and were accused of operating Cannabis Growth and distribution programs, which have paid millions of dollars and have contributed extensively to the illegal drug trade in the Northeast. ” The FBI’s Boston Divisionsaid in a statement.

The defendants include Jianxiong Chen, 39; Yuxiong Wu, 36; Dinghui Li, 38; Dechao Ma, 35; Peng Lian Zhu, 35; Hongbin Wu, 35; and Yanrong Zhu, 47. Six defendants, excluding fugitive Yanrong Zhu, were arrested on Tuesday, according to the DOJ.
Chinese students were arrested for suspected smuggling of undeclared biological materials.

During a search for the house last October, law enforcement found more than $270,000 in cash on the property along with some Chinese passports. According to the Justice Department, searches for other homes have led to law enforcement officers discovering nearly $200,000 in cash, more than 240 pounds of marijuana and Rolex watches.
