As a beauty editor, I want to be completely honest with any cosmetic work I intend to do. I don’t feel ashamed to admit that I’ve considered booking my first Botox date and another treatment I’ve been thinking about trying is a lip filler. I keep going over my lips and apply one of them The best lip color or Lip oil To create a fuller fantasy, I’ve always wondered if lip fillers might be a beauty remedy I could try. Until I came across some kind of beauty product. Enter, the best lip gloss.
About lip products, from gloss to Lip balmI think people with full lips are often overlooked. Until YSL launches Loveshine plump lip gloss I started to notice this makeup product. When giving the YSL gloss, I was shocked by the fuller look of the lips. Over the past few months, I’ve been testing other popular lip glosses to see if they can convince me to cancel my lip filler date. Spoiler alert, they did.
Below, I put together the tested edits for the best lip gloss, from natural everyday options to more statement finishes. You’re welcome.
Before and after testing one of the best lip glosses.
What is lip balm protein?
As the name suggests, these products are designed to create a more complete lip fantasy. While each product works in its own unique way, most lip glosses will contain moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and nutritional oils to help “full” and make your lips look very juicy.
How to choose a lip color
When choosing the best lip gloss, it is important to consider what kind of results you want. Some people might want to choose a transparent formula so that you can layer it on other lip products, while others might want to try a colored formula so that you can simply brush the product and do it well.
Below, I offer a range of clear and tinted options, along with lip gloss and lip gloss with super gloss finishes, with more subtle results. So, what are you waiting for? Keep scrolling to shop my top choice…
The best lip protein
1. Yves Saint Laurent Love Love Lip Color
Yves Saint-Laurent
Busty lip color
Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, ginger and pepper oil.
Number of shadows: 10
First, probably my favorite lip gloss ever. YSL’s lip oil is filled with hyaluronic acid and fig lips, while ginger and pepper oils promote a fuller look.
Now, it is worth noting that this lip oil is very irritating. When I first used it it felt a little like my lips caught fire, but it was just oily work. As time goes by, the feeling fades and you will leave behind a juicy, nourishing, plump p-mouth that will make money on your lip filler.
advantage
- Interesting shadows to choose from
- Give serious effects
shortcoming
- More expensive
- Very interested
2. Nuxe plump lip serum
Best for: Subtle plump effect
Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, rosehip oil, chili pepper extract and menthol.
Number of shadows: one
If you are taking a more subtle effect, Nuxe will cover its plump lip serum. This moisturizing formula has a consistent glossiness and features chili pepper extract for a fuller effect.
I tend to get this particular product every day because I like the sheer, nude color it gives and find it makes my lips look natural and shining. Also, packaging is a work of art.
advantage
- Chic packaging
- Very suitable for everyday wear
3. Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte Tilbury
Big lips swollen
Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid
Number of shadows: three
For a bright color on the lips, Charlotte Tilbury’s plump shine is in three generally flattering shades as part of the iconic pillow seat line.
The multitasking formula features “add and ice technology and hyaluronic acid” to make your lips look as full and smooth as possible, while the pointed applicator means you can get a super professional finish at home or on the go.
advantage
- A likable shadow
- Accurate applicator
- Glossy, plump finish
shortcoming
- The packaging is a bit bulky
- Very interested
4. Dior Addict’s Lip Maximizer
Dior
Addict’s lips maximizer
Key Ingredients: Cherry oil and hyaluronic acid.
Number of shadows: 49
I’m a loyal fan Dior Lip products, this shine is no exception. Not only do I love the various shades offered, but the moisturizing formula will make my lips look so full.
The gloss has a mixture of cherry oil and hyaluronic acid that nourishes the lips and adds a mirror-like shine that makes me compliment. Another thing that makes me praise? Super chic packaging.
advantage
- Chic packaging
- Many shadows
- Super glossy finish
shortcoming
- More expensive
5. KikoMilano Lip roll gloss
Best for: Affordability
Kiko Milan
Lip gloss gloss
Key Ingredients: Spheres of sesame oil and hyaluronic acid.
Number of shadows: two
Kiko has made a range of affordable lip products, including the shine of this lip gloss that combines the benefits of balm and oil. The result is a super nourishing formula that is comfortable to wear in seconds and slides to your lips.
While it’s not as plump as some other options, the glossy finish does make my lips look smoother and fuller. My only problem? I want to provide more shadows.
advantage
- Affordable
- Slim packaging is perfect for travel
shortcoming
- Only two shadows available
6. Kelly’s cosmetics’ plump gloss
Best for: Comfortable wear
Kelly Cosmetics
A plump luster
Key Ingredients: portulaca extract.
Number of shadows: six
Kylie cosmetics’ plump luster has a unique plump complex, resulting in a more comprehensive p-mouth. While it does feel harsh at first, it’s amazing to wear that I’ve been doing a lot of things for it since I tested it.
It creates such a gorgeous glossy effect, but not as sticky as other products I’ve tried. Plus, I’m personally a big fan of wearable pink shades.
advantage
- More subtle fullness effect
- Comfortable wear
shortcoming
- Some people may prefer more dramatic effects
7. Makup by Mario Moisturizing™ plump lip serum
Mario’s Makeup
Moisturizing™ plump lip serum
Key Ingredients: Shea butter, avocado oil, refined kiwi and argan oil.
Number of shadows: 14
Most plump lip products add pure color to the lips, but Mario’s makeup grease is excellent if you prefer a more statistical effect. It has a surprisingly pigmented color and adds this cute dew effect to the lips, making them look full and plump in seconds.
Even though I’m a big fan of the product, one thing I would say is that I find the app very messy. It was described as a “melt glossy lipid” and the product’s literal meaning seemed to melt in the tube, which means I had more applications than expected. Although the rod applicator is convenient, I recommend using a lip brush to apply this product if you prefer a more precise finish.
advantage
- Smooth packaging
- Pigment color
8. Paula’s Choice Pro-Collagen Peptide Gloss Balm
Paula’s Choice
Collagen-like peptide gloss balm
Key Ingredients: Shea butter and peptides.
Number of shadows: one
Last but not least, say hello to the Pro-Collagen peptide gloss balm from skincare favorite Paula’s Choice. It really is like skin care products, and mixed with peptides and shea butter for a smooth, plump effect.
What I love about this fat is that it has a clear finish so I can layer it on a lip liner or lipstick to give the look a fuller look. Whether I’m creating a statement makeup look or just wanting to make a nourishing lip balm on a makeup-free day, this has become a go-to for me.
advantage
- Clear colors can be layered on lip liner or lipstick
shortcoming
- More subtle daily effects
