A powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck Kanchitka Peninsula in Russia’s Far East around 11:25 Wednesday.
Tsunami warnings and evacuation orders have been issued around the world, including Japan, Ecuador, Hawaii and the West Coast of North America.
