Kelly Pavlik said Terence Crawford should force Canelo Alvarez to fatigue in the early rounds in the fight on September 13. Former middleweight champion Pavlik, as Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOS) will gradually disappear in the seventh round if Crawford (41-0, 31 kos) forces him to fight quickly.
Such a battle would require Crawford to be hit by fresh Canelo, who needs a good chin to handle the power. To get 38-year-old Crawford to repeatedly fall into his mind and body early in the fight, this will ask many Omaha people in Nebraska.
Early round, Canelo gradually disappeared
Kelly Pavlik vs. Fighting TV About Terence Crawford needs to change the position to confuse Canelo Alvarez.
It is questionable whether Crawford would often change his position in the battle to confuse Canelo. Alvarez fought many fighters who had changed their positions in his career, but it didn’t work.
Crawford’s opponent quality
It doesn’t matter if he repeatedly switched from South Claw to Orthodox to oppose Terence’s weak opposition in most of his career. He intends to defeat them in any posture, because they are weak fighters. There is a lack of insights Crawford created his own 41-0 record of opposition and determined that he could have beaten them the same way on the South Claw stand.
“Keep the same on Canelo’s A**. Put Canelo in the back. Even three rounds in the first four rounds, because when Canelo has to fight after seven rounds, he started to fade out a little bit, Pavlik said. We’ve seen a lot of his fights with GGG. When Canelo can control the fight and the ring general, yes, he can fight 12 rounds.”
Crawford’s durability issues
Crawford couldn’t master the Canelo like Gennadiy Golovkin and Dmitry Bivol, because he wasn’t as big, tough or powerful as those fighters. We’ve seen Crawford get hurt by the little guy. GGG and BIVOL won huge punches from Canelo. Due to their size and chin, they were able to do so. Crawford was too fragile to argue with Canelo like Pavlik wanted him.
“But, when Canelo was pushed very early in the fight, he started to face the endurance of the muscles,” Pavlic said. “If I were Crawford, I would have to (make him put pressure) in the early rounds. Let him have to chase in the third round, fourth and fifth rounds. Then in the seventh round, that’s when he can really step up.”
Crawford was punished a lot in his last fight with “Ggg” Israil Madrimov, when he stopped running and began oppressing him in the championship game. While working, Crawford took Madrimov’s repeated right-hand shots, which made it difficult to score those rounds. When Terence attacked, Madrimov landed a bigger, harder fist.
