Los Angeles Charger Authorities say defender Denzel Perryman is still in jail on Saturday after being detained on weapons charges.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies said Friday’s traffic stop was found during traffic stops.

“On August 1, 2025, at 9:30 p.m., South Los Angeles Station deputies conducted a traffic stop in the event of Los Angeles charger football player Denzel Perryman’s vehicle violation,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
“During the traffic stop, deputies found five guns in Mr. Perryman’s vehicle, two of which were assault-style rifles.”

Perryman was charged with felony shortly after 10 p.m., records say. The Sheriff’s Department confirmed that he had no bonds at the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station.

Perryman’s agent Ron Butler said the Pro Bowl guard stays in touch with legal experts.
“Denzel and our team are still collecting information and working closely with legal counsel,” Butler told ESPN. “While I cannot talk about the details at the moment, we believe things will be handled appropriately through legal processes.”

Perryman is scheduled to appear in Inglewood Court on Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Department said.
“We know what is involved in Denzel and are collecting information,” the team said in a statement.

Perryman has been playing for the charger since 2017-20 and has returned to the team in 2024. Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders.
