Dramatic video shows rescuers Help hikers He fell about 25 feet on a popular hiking spot.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the Great Falls, located near the Forest Falls San Bernardino Mountains.
San Bernardino County fire officials said emergency responders were alerted around 3:45 p.m. when someone cried when they heard help from the area.
Officials said the caller could not see the injured hiker but reported hearing about a call for help about halfway through the falls.

Investigators said the hiker tried to glide in the wet and smooth part of the falls, causing him to fall about 25 feet into the rocky basin below.
Rescuers hiked to the site and found the victim seriously injured. After evaluating his condition, they asked a helicopter equipped with hoisting capabilities to determine that it was the safest and fastest way to contact and evacuate steep terrain.

A paramedic was lowered from the helicopter and the man was fixed in the Stokes basket with the help of the ground crew. He was then airlifted to a nearby trauma center as shown in the dramatic video. His current medical condition is not yet known.

Several emergency forces participated in rescue activities, including fire trucks, rescue personnel, battalion heads, helicopter teams and public information officers.
