The striker of Seattle Krawen John Hayden and the blue-haired troll mascot of the team had a close call with a brown bear during an advertising video in Alaska.
Hayden and the mascot named Boje were on a trip in which youth hockey promotes, when the bear approached, in the video editions published by the team shows in the Katmai National Park.
In a flat river KniTiep and wore Waders and other fly fish equipment. Hayden had fished, but a guide quickly took his bar.
The bear stormed into a mascot that sprayed water, but turned before contacting when Hayden, Boje and the film crew returned with a gentle current.
Brown bears are usually on the Brooks River in the Katmai National Park salmon on salmon and devour them while they jump upstream over Brooks Falls. “I want to blame Boje,” said Hayden on the video afterwards. “They were pretty interested in his look.”
The run-in occurred on June 25 as part of an annual trip, which was organized by the Bristol Bay Native Corporation in Anchorage, Alaska, with events that promote youth ice hockey. Alaska does not have its own NHL team. The closest teams are in Seattle and Vancouver, Canada.
