Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu The New York Times are being accused of being slandered on the hunger coverage in Gaza, especially the front page photo of a skinny child, which the newspaper later admitted was misleading.
“The New York Times should be prosecuted,” Netanyahu told Fox News’s Bill Hemmer in an exclusive sit-down interview Thursday.
“I’m actually looking at whether a country can sue The New York Times and I’m investigating now because I think it’s such an obvious defamation.”
Netanyahu’s criticism stems from a photo used in Times Articles, titled “Young people, old age and sickness starve to death in Gaza: ‘Nothing.'” This photo shows a little boy being shaken by his mother. Apparently, his spine poked in the skin. The article focuses on highlighting the worsening of the humanitarian crisis in the war-torn areas.

A few days later, The Times released a correction Acknowledging that the child has an existing medical condition leads to his appearance. Neither the article nor the subtitles contain this information initially.
Netanyahu said: “I mean, you put a picture of a child and then represent all these allegedly hungry children…” Cerebral palsy. ”
The Times correction pointed out that after the story was published, the boy’s doctor informed them of their health. “If the Times knew about this information before publication, the information would be included in the article and image titles,” the media wrote.
But Netanyahu said the correction was not satisfactory.
“This is proposed by The New York Times,” Netanyahu said. “Then it corrected with a denial of the size of the stamp buried in the back page.”

Despite Israeli leaders’ outrage at the story, some international organizations, including the United Nations, have warned that the hunger situation in Gaza has worsened.
Ted Chaiban, Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF Tell Fox News Malnutrition in the area has reached famine.
“After 22 months of the war, Israel’s lockdown was two months old, and people were in a terrible state,” Chaban said.
The New York Times admits to using misleading cover photos
Netanyahu acknowledged the pain but accused Hamas of making the crisis worse. He accused terrorist groups of robbing aid transport and resale supplies at inflated prices.
“I don’t deny that there is pain,” Netanyahu said. “I want to end the suffering, I want to end the Hamas rule.”
In the interview, Netanyahu confirmed that he intends to take full control of the Gaza Strip. The news marks a major policy shift in Israel after leaving the territory nearly two decades ago.
