Europe’s zoos are inviting the public to become unnecessary Pets become preyrequesting donations of fluffy rabbits and family guinea pigs to be euthanized and fed to their predators.
Denmark’s Aalborg Zoo announced the plan in a Facebook post, sparking public uproar, including anger at the people of Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
“If your animals need to be resettled for various reasons, you are welcome to donate to us. These animals are humanely euthanized by trained staff, and then Used as feed,” the zoo wrote in a social media post. “That way, there is no waste – we ensure natural behavior, proper nutrition and the well-being of our predators. ”

PETA weighed the controversial initiative, saying the donation requirement was not “natural”.

“We understand that the post evokes emotions and interest, but hateful and malicious remarks are unnecessary and we encourage a respectful tone,” the leadership wrote. “We are happy to elaborate and answer questions via private messages or emails.”
Aalborg Zoo and PETA Fox News Digital’s request for comment was not immediately responded.
