NFL Hall of Fame and Colorado Football Head Coach Deion Sanders He answered his physical health questions after battling bladder cancer earlier this year.
“I’m healthy and I’m full of energy.” Colorado coach said Friday at the school’s media day. “I am my old self.”
Sanders said he walked at least one mile every day on campus after practice. Sanders turned 58 on Saturday and left the team all summer.

“I love life now,” he said. “I’m doing my best to make it live in full given what’s going on.”
Sanders announced in late July that he had to remove his bladder after being diagnosed with cancer during the offseason.
“Men, everyone, will be checked out. Because if I hadn’t been for other tests, they wouldn’t have stumbled upon this,” he said in a press conference last month. “Make sure you get the right care, because without such a good person, I wouldn’t be sitting here today because it will develop rapidly. But check it out for yourself.”

Colorado assistant athletes Lauren Askevold and Dr. Janet Kukreja at UC Health broke the timelines for Sanders’ diagnosis and surgery.
Ascoward said Sanders scanned his blood vessel pattern to check if his blood clots disappeared. From a vascular perspective, everything was fine until Sanders’ primary care doctor wanted to recommend coaches to urologists, she said. The doctor conducted the procedure and then handed him over to Kukreja, director of urology oncology at UC Health.

Sanders’ primary care doctor says the coach has a Bladder tumoraccording to Askevold.
“We continue to remove the bladder tumor. We remove the tumor. It’s a very high level, invading from the bladder wall instead of entering the muscle layer, which we call high-risk non-invasive bladder cancer.”

Kukreja said they discussed some options, but Sanders chose to remove the bladder and create a new one.
“I’m happy to report that the result of the surgery was that he was cured from cancer,” she said.
Over the past few months, Sanders has alerted him about his health issues.

He revealed in a video posted on Sunday by his youngest son, Deion Sanders Jr., that he made a will amid his health concerns. The video was taken on May 9th.
He said in the video: “Mentally and emotionally, it was tough last night, yesterday was tough because I had to follow the will. It wasn’t easy at all, thinking you might not be here.”
Sanders, who worked in Colorado before the 2023 season began, brought his sons Shedeur and Shilo and Travis Hunter to Jackson State.
The 2024 season was the most successful year of coach Prime’s two years. Hunter won the Heisman Trophy as a double-position player, while the Buffalo won the Alamo Bowl 9-4.
