Elon Musk Turns His AI Chatbot Into a Male Fantasy Engine

Elon Musk has always been the biggest Hype man for his own companies. Whether it’s Tesla, SpaceX, or X (formerly Twitter), the world’s richest man personally takes to social media to promote new features, products and ideas. His AI company, Xai, is no exception.

Over the past week, Musk has flooded X with posters promoting Grok Imagine, the new Bild-and-Video-generational function in Supergrok, the most advanced version of Xai’s Grok chat. But the images that Musk chooses to show, say as much about the intended audience as they do about the technology.

Instead of highlighting landscapes, futuristic technic concepts or abstract art, Musk’s posters overwhelmingly feature sex-generated women: sparsely dressed warriors, language models, leather-clad dominations, and bikini-clad beaches. Many are presented in ways that lean on well -worn male fantasies: domain and submission, aesthetics of BDSM and the “vulnerable beauty”.

Week of AI -Fantasies

Since August 2, Musk’s X account has become a GROK-generated softcore catalog.

  • August 2: “Masked Kunoichi Ninja” with fierce eyes and gold knit armor walking through a snowy, atmospheric Moscow night. Musk even shared the full promise, noting his cinematic lighting and complex detail.
  • August 3: Princess-like figure with revealing dress; Another image of a young woman in a barely-there suit; and BDSM coded chess-mistress in leather, sitting on chess in a seductive position.
  • August 5: An older dressed woman with a fire in her chest, bending into fantasy art tropes.
  • August 7: Trio of AI women in various states of stripping to promote Grok image; A hip-floating beach in a swimwear; and a language dressed woman admiring her own body in the mirror.

In almost every image, the women are either powerful in hyper-styled, male road (fantasy warriors, dominations) or presented as delicate and sensory, playing in tropes of vulnerability.

The billionaire of the handphere

Musk’s choices are not random. He is a cult figure in some parts of the handphere, the online ecosystem of male influences and communities that promote traditional or exaggerated male ideals. In this world, sexual images, fantasy rule and “idealized” femininity is a cultural currency. By several times showing these types of AI women, Musk seems to speak directly to that public.

This is not the first time that AIs are criticized for reflecting the bias of their creators or promoters. But in the esteemed AI race, Musk and Xai seem comfortable by making Grok imagine a product that openly pays attention to a male heavy user base. In the war for chat rule, they bet on old online truth: sex is sold, especially to men.

Even Grok’s official account supported the marketing on August 2, commenting on one of Musk’s posts: “Thanks for showing Grok’s video animation! Excited by the audio audio of audio,” the Chatbot account posted. “It will unlock even more creative possibilities. What kind of scene should we invigorate next?”

The message was clear: Grok Imagine is about AI -fantasy. And right now, this fantasy looks tailored for Musk’s most loyal male fans.
