
star wars Fans all know the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker– And everyone sees the way things might have been, the flashpoints along the path that pushed him on the path of the dark side. What if he met the right person, felt the different way about something? Was he always destined to be Darth Vader regardless? Well, Bandai Latest digital pet isn’t equipped to answer such existential questions about a fictional character, but that won’t stop it from being cute, dammit.
To celebrate Lucasfilm’s new ‘Power the Force’ campaign, IO9 has your first look at Bandai’s latest star wars tamagotchi, joining the previous one R2-D2 And Grog Devices with none other than Darth Vader himself. Starting out as Anakin, it’s up to you as the caretaker of this little sprite-based Jedi to see exactly how you can influence his transformation into Darth Vader. You can feed him, train him with light beams or duels, or make him meet a whole bunch of characters from the movies (Hopefully not Wattafter last week’s news) to finally shape how the chosen falls to darkness, with 10 possible waders in which he can grow.

In addition to raising your own little Sith, the Vader Tamagotchi also plays witty renditions of 12 iconic scenes from the star wars movies, and also comes with a quintet of mini-games while away with: as well as the aforementioned light beam training, there star wars Letter Hunt, a takeover of the infamous death star trench, and shows with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke himself. If That It wasn’t enough, the Vader-themed Tamagotchi even comes with a special silicone case for storage, in the shape of Vader’s masked mistletoe, a tiny vader, inside, which is a smaller, egg-shaped vader, inside of which is even smaller vader!
