The New York State Sports Commission has reportedly chosen to hold Gervonta “Tank” Davis with Lamont Roach for a 12-round tie instead of overturning the results in a conflict at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 1.

Surprisingly, this battle won’t change to a victory for Roach (25-1-2, 10 KO) as WBA lightweight champion Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOS) kneeled in the ninth round, the second second after being hit. He then stood up and returned to the corner, allowing his coach to grease his eyes without the referee pausing.

Davis is expected to give Roach a rematch, but we’ll see if he does. If he could have a more profitable battle with Vasily Lomachenko, Ryan Garcia, or Jake Paul, he might want to move on.
Roach started slowly in the fight, without throwing many punches in the first half of the game. But as the second half extended, he eliminated the tanks and fought him, making him angry.
