Google has announced Friday that Google Assistant is no longer for this world. The company plans to transfer most Android devices to twins instead. This includes phones, tables, devices that connect to your phone, headphones and even the Assistant in the car. The only devices saved will be those limited to RAM 2GB or who are not in a compatible version of Android.
Here is the First official statement From Google, that Google Assistant is on its way out, but it’s not like us that we didn’t expect it. Twins are already the default experience on most major Android devices, including Google, Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus, and foreign brands. Google also insists that “millions of people have already made the switch,” though I will challenge them about how many people will so willingly. For example, I didn’t want to make the change at first. I just agreed because I understood that I had to evolve with the times if I continue to write about smartphones.
I am sad About this, as this transition from Google assistant to Google’s Gemini AI was disorderly. Watch Google slowly Nerf as I trained myself to interact with my smart home and other Google-led devices were devastating. I think about My precious dongle barely holding me in my old car. But I also think about the Lenovo -intelligent clock I usually wake up every morning and turn off the lights every night. I contacted Google and the manufacturers of these devices to see what they recommend. I suspect a ton of disappointment expressed in forum posts over the internet, as people realize that their Google Assistant devices will become paper weights. Who even has a paper to hold more?
Twins are a better digital assistant in many ways. It’s a lot more conversational, and you can use it with yourself to pronounce thoughts and not. Recently, I shared a 15-minute video with my colleague, which I took from twins and I had back and forth on something I explored. Twins didn’t hold back the best results at the end of it – this made me cry a little because of frustration. But I was aware of that experience that the helpers we knew with Google Assistant and even Siri from Apple experience the following development. Digital assistants have always been reportedly more conversational, personal and interactive. And now that Gemini has reached it, Google is ready to roll it.
