According to Reuters, Dageo does not intend to sell Guinness or to participate in Moet Hennessy

(Reuters) – Diageo (Lon 🙂 does not intend to sell his beer brand Guinness or his share of Moet Hennessy, the LVMH drinks division, the world’s leading spirits manufacturers announced on Sunday.

On Friday, Bloomberg News reported that the company checks options for Guinness, a star in the portfolio of Diageo, and examines its investment in Moet Hennessy. According to the report, Guinness could have a value of more than $ 10 billion.

“We take note of the latest media speculations on the Guinness brand and our participation in Moet Hennessy and can confirm that we also do not intend to sell,” said Diageo in a statement. The company also announced that it would publish further business updates with intermediate results on February 4.

Guinness is a special case in the Diagoo shop, which mainly consists of spirits and not beer, but recently its performance has put the most important spirits brands like Johnnie Walky in the shade.

The spirit sales had to struggle after the post-pandemie boom turned into the opposite when demanding for more expensive spirits. In the meantime, the Guinness sales have grown in double digits every year since 2021, although the non-alcoholic version also increases sharply.
