The highly anticipated sequel The highly anticipated sequel, nearly 30 years after the original 1996 classic, Sandler reprised his role as a titular golfer. The trailer brings a new era to Happy, full of his classic sports anger and comedic antics, while also revealing a heartfelt new motivation: He returns to the golf course to raise funds for his daughter Vienna (by Sunny Sandler) ballet school tuition.
Fans can rejoice in the return of familiar faces, including Christopher McDonald, as Happy’s hatred shooters McGavin and Julie Bowen are happy love interests Virginia Venit. The cast is also full of exciting new members and cameos such as Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce (who made his performance debut), Ben Stiller, John Daly and Maxwell Jacob Friedman, among others.
The script directed by Kyle Newacheck, directed by return co-writers Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler Happy Gilmore 2 Promise to blend nostalgia and the chaos of the new movement. The film is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix on July 25, 2025.
