Commentator Antonio Tarver predicts that Canelo Alvarez will lose to Terence Crawford if he can handle his power on September 13. The only question Tarver has in this battle is whether Crawford (41-0, 31 KOS) can handle Canelo’s power at 168, as he is actually jumping high in three weight levels.
Crawford must deal with Canelo’s power
Terence wasn’t enough to call him in a 154 battle with Israil Madrimov last August because he was on weight shift. It takes more than one battle, and he doesn’t fight any killers in the department to show that he is in the junior high school welterweight class.
Tarver noted that the last time he saw the Canelo (63-2-2, 39 KOS) version would beat Crawford, when he fought the Caleb Plant in 2021. However, he wasn’t even sure Canelo’s version would beat Crawford.

Canelo didn’t have to punch in the last three games because those matches were so matched that he could do less. Given their resume and limited talent, these fighters should never rank the highest.
Plant Battle: Peaks
“The last time I saw Canelo, that would have beaten Crawford was a plant. Now, if that canelo comes, it would have been a hell of a battle. Even then, I’d give Crawford a chance.
I disagree with Taffer. There is no difference between the valley fighting the Kaleb plants and his expression against Skra. The only difference is that the skull is reluctant to exchange punches like plants.
