Festival participants at a big music event find themselves in a heart-warming situation, a popular entertainment ride that suddenly shuts down, putting several people in trouble.
The event took place in the early hours of Thursday morning on the board, the annual surfing and music festival held by the board in Cornwall, England. According to videos captured by attendees and statements from organizers of the event, the Apollo 13 ride suffered a brief power failure around 1 a.m., according to a statement from the organizers of the event.
The witness video was circulated on Tiktok, showing the rider hanging above the ground and unable to move for about 20 minutes.
One Tiktok user at the scene called it “crazy”, while another tiktok user joked that the wind could move in the middle of the air.

Another user who claimed to be traveling said: “It’s just frozen.”

Despite the dramatic visuals, organizers insisted that the security protocols work exactly as expected.
“As a safety precaution, the ride automatically stopped with the people on board,” a board spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News. “The ride operator responded immediately and helped all guests safely within 20 minutes.”

“There is no doubt about the guests,” the statement continued. “There has since been a complete safety check and normal operation has been resumed.”

Apollo 13 Ride launched in 2024, with its operators regularly releasing updates and behind-the-scenes maintenance efforts Official Facebook page. An article published in April outlines the rigorous inspections performed before each incident, including gear checks, light repairs and grease at perspective points.
The four-day festival is scheduled to end on Sunday, August 10.
