Apple has revealed an update to its Apple TV operating system, TVOS 26, during its global developers conference (WWDC 2025) on Monday, with an aesthetics of “liquid glass” for Apple TV, which offers elegant and “uncontrolled” design, the company said.
One of the outstanding features for users is the ability to quickly jump into its own user profile. Apple TV will now present profile options every time it wakes up from sleep, making it more convenient for each family member to choose their profile and quickly restart their own favorite shows and movies.
The renewed Apple TV program also features a new poster art on the main screen, allowing more shows and movies to appear. Additionally, the control center, where users can perform actions such as starting a sleeping timer or adjust a headset, received the liquid glass treatment. This ensures that the video remains the focus point while viewers are watching content.
Additionally, TVOS 26 introduces a new API for developers who link APP logs to an Apple account, simplifying the login process for users when setting up a new device.
