Archer X United Airlines NYC Air Taxi Network Information

Shooter and United Airlines Announced plans to launch an air taxi network in New York City, aiming to reduce travel time between Manhattan and nearby airports to just 5-15 minutes. The network will rely on electric aircraft piloted by Archer to provide a fast and sustainable alternative to crowded roads.

The midnight plane is designed to carry four passengers with low noise and zero emissions. It has 12 redundant motors and propellers, targeting comparable levels of safety as commercial airlines. Archer received the FAA Part 135 airline certificate in 2024 and is working on full certification to start operations.

Vertiports will be established at existing airfields, including airports and helicopters in the area. Partners such as Atlantic Airlines, Signature Airlines, Skyport, Modern Aviation and Air Pegasus are working with Archer to electrify infrastructure. The initiative was based on similar plans previously announced in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

According to Archer CEO Adam Goldstein, “New York may be one of the first markets for American Airlines taxis,” the city’s demand, regulatory support and existing infrastructure. The service will integrate with airline travel to provide passengers with a door-to-door experience.
